Established in 1906 as Canada's first federal wildlife sanctuary, Elk Island is open year-round.
The park is rich in lakes and wetland foliage, and is home to herds of elk,bison and moose.
It features a Ukrainian pioneer home, the Astotin Interpretive Centre,a golf course, campground and hiking trails.
